Ingredients:
- 6 Jalapeños
- 1/2 Onion
- 4 Cloves of Garlic (or 2 teaspoons minced garlic)
- 3 Sprigs of Cilantro
- 2 Teaspoons Salt
- 1/4 Cup Avocado Oil
- Juice from 1 Lime
- 1/2 Teaspoon Pepper
Directions:
- For a Mild Sauce:
- Remove the stems from the jalapeños. Cut them in half and remove the seeds and white flesh.
- Chop the onion into smaller pieces.
- Place the jalapeños and onion in a 2-quart saucepan.
- Add enough water to cover all the ingredients.
- Bring the water to a boil and let it simmer for 10 minutes, or until the jalapeños are soft but not mushy.
- While boiling, combine the rest of the ingredients in a separate container and stir together.
- Strain the water from the jalapeños and onion.
- For a Hot Sauce:
- Remove the stems from the jalapeños.
- Add the jalapeños and onion to the container with the rest of the ingredients.
- Use an immersion blender to blend all the ingredients until smooth.
